Private Viewing 08/05/2026
The exhibition was opened by Deputy Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Annie Brewster, who is also a Patron of our organisation. Deputy Lieutenant Annie Brewster spoke about the numbers of people living with chronic illness in the County, and the importance of groups like ours in improving their lives and wellbeing.
Mayor of St Albans City and District, Councillor Teresa Heritage, also spoke at the event. She highlighted arts and community engagement as being essential for mental health. Deputy Mayor of Hertford, Councillor Maura Connelly, and Vice-Chair of Hertfordshire County Council, Councillor Sandy Walkington, were also in attendance along with Trustees, volunteers, group members and their family and friends.
After looking at the amazing artworks, poetry and photography, those in attendance enjoyed touching and emotional speeches and poetry readings from our members. Special mention was given, as always, to all of those who were not able to attend due to the severity of their condition. Many people commented on the supportive, inclusive and welcoming nature of the group. On the night we were delighted to receive a generous donation. It is because of funding and donations like this we are able to continue the services we offer, so from all of us a very big ‘thank you’.
